Modern Garden
This garden began as a simple lawn with little definition. The brief was to create a space that felt inviting, practical and full of character- somewhere to relax, entertain and enjoy year-round planting.
A patio was laid just outside the house, providing the perfect setting for outdoor dining and social gatherings. From here, a brick-paved path leads through the garden, stepping up into raised areas that add depth, structure and a sense of journey.
At the heart of the garden, a central seating area was built, framed by raised beds. This intimate spot offers a private corner to enjoy morning coffee or evening relaxation, surrounded by planting that provides colour, texture and interest across the seasons.
The planting scheme balances evergreens and topiary for structure with perennials, ornamental grasses, and specimen shrubs for movement and variety. Small ornamental trees were added to soften boundaries and give subtle screening. A raised kitchen garden was also included, bringing beauty and productivity together with seasonal fruit and vegetables.
The result is a welcoming, modern garden that feels both intimate and expansive. It offers flexible spaces for entertaining, everyday living and appreciating the changing seasons – a true transformation from lawn to lifestyle garden.
