Concept for Living Show Garden

Elegant, Relaxed & Designed for Everyday Enjoyment – Awarded Garden Designer of the year Award 2003

Following the success of our Moroccan-inspired garden, Butler Landscapes showcase another unique outdoor space at the Concept for Living Show. This next garden embraced a contemporary yet tranquil style, thoughtfully designed to inspire everyday use, visual interest and year-round enjoyment.

There was a welcoming seating terrace, styled with two deep-cushioned chairs and a coffee table the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening conversation. A delicately placed bird bath nestled among the planting added a gentle focal point and encouraged wildlife into the space. There was a view through to a striking mirrored water feature, offering a sense of depth and elegance. Behind, a large terracotta jar planted with Phormium ‘Yellow Wave’ added height and structure, while its sculptural foliage played beautifully against light and reflection.

The garden featured posts painted in Cuprinol’s ‘Wild Thyme’, each topped with a classic rounded capping ball to create rhythm and cohesion along the boundary. A gravel pathway with stepping stones guided visitors through mixed borders planted with a blend of shrubs, herbaceous perennials and graceful climbers offering soft texture, seasonal colour and natural movement.

This garden demonstrated how even modest outdoor areas can be transformed into peaceful sanctuaries, combining form, function and a strong design narrative. With layered planting, elegant hard landscaping and subtle focal features, it reflected Butler Landscapes’ commitment to crafting bespoke, timeless gardens that invite relaxation and connection.
