Split-Level Garden Transformation
With Heat Source System
This garden transformation involved overcoming a steep and uneven site to create a level, functional and visually balanced outdoor space. The project began with substantial groundwork – our team constructed a reinforced retaining wall to stabilise the rear boundary and allow the garden to be built up safely.
Before the landscaping phase, a heat source system was installed beneath the ground. Due to the tight space and depth of excavation required, the work had to be carried out with careful planning and precision. The coiled pipework was methodically laid out to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability before the soil and structural elements were reinstated.
Once the groundwork was complete, we created a split-level layout to make the most of the sloped terrain. The upper deck was constructed using composite decking supported by a pressure-treated timber frame, providing durability with minimal maintenance required. A bespoke stepway was built to connect the decking to the lower lawn, creating a natural flow between the levels.
The lower area was finished with a new lawn and clean edges, ready for planting to complete the scheme. The result is a modern, practical garden that blends structural integrity with inviting design – proof that even challenging gradients can be transformed into beautiful, usable outdoor spaces.
