Commercial Gardens
Creating commercial spaces that inspire in Stafford, Chester, Shropshire and beyond
It's not just residential gardens that we specialise in; here at Butler Landscapes, we're also experts in designing and delivering stunning commercial gardens. We work in a huge range of settings – from businesses premises and public parks to schools and colleges – to create unique landscapes that leave a lasting impression.
Whether it’s a calming courtyard for employees, a welcoming public park for the community or a school garden that inspires creativity, our team ensures every space is thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished. Browse through our previous projects below to learn more.
Tilstock Cemetery
At Butler Landscapes, we were honoured to create a design that balances formality, heritage, and ecology for Tilstock Cemetery's new entrance avenue. Commissioned to enhance the approach to a historic Celtic-style monument, our vision was to develop a contemplative space that unites structure and softness, welcoming visitors with dignity and beauty.

The Well Garden, Wollerton Old Hall
In early 2024, Butler Landscapes were commissioned to construct the newly re-designed Well Garden at Wollerton Old Hall Garden, one of Britain’s most admired private gardens. The re-design was led by Lesley Jenkins in collaboration with Phil Smith (Pip Smith Designs). Their vision retained the garden’s iconic tall yew pyramids, linking visually to the Yew Walk, while introducing a fresh planting palette in shades of green, white, and blue. The re-designed Well Garden was officially opened on 19 April 2024, just before Easter, and was hailed by Financial Times garden writer Robin Lane Fox as a “masterpiece.”

Capability Brown Celebration Garden
In 2015–2016, Paul Butler was invited to develop a concept for an RHS Tatton Park show garden celebrating the legacy of Lancelot “Capability” Brown. Although the garden was not built due to lack of sponsorship, the scheme remains a favourite in our studio for the way it translates Brown’s parkland principles into a contemporary show setting.
